Chess

          "Pawns. Rooks. Bishops. Queens. All are pieces. All are players. All sacrificable to the King.
         On the playing field, an array of forces are engaged to take out opposing sides. Open warfare. Covert moves. Either. Both.
         What happens when Generation X is caught between saving the life of one of their own and acting in the better interests of all mutantkind? As precious and hard-won concessions are slowly wittled away, can they afford to engage in a no-hold's barred efford to reclaim that which is theirs? Or is the price they will pay too great, not just for them, but for all of mutantdom.
         And what happens when there are more players on the table than there are sides? Who lies behind the factions, playing one off against the other? When a decades-long quest to cleanse the planet of mutation begins to flower at last and the dreams of one of the X-Men's most deadliest foes come to fruition, what will be left standing to pick up the pieces?
